Ortiz is of half-Mexican from his paternal side. His father was Sam Ortiz, who gave him the nickname Tito. His parents, both addicts themselves caused his childhood to be difficult. He was also a member of bands. He also took drugs, such as cocaine. As a youngster, he was taken to detention for juveniles. He was 13 when his parents divorced. He attended Huntington Beach High School and wrestled. His mother exiled him when he was 18. Paul Herrera encouraged Ortiz to keep wrestling and to attend college. He was then married for five years to Kristin the first wife he had. Then he had a romance with Jenna Jameson. The couple had twins. They're divorced now.
